As a documentarian, speaker, writer, podcaster and activist, Abigail Disney tells human stories that have been overlooked for too long. Abigail co founded and serves as chair of Level Forward, an ecosystem of storytellers, entrepreneurs, and social change-makers dedicated to balancing artistic vision, social impact, and stakeholder return. She also created the nonprofit Peace is Loud, which uses storytelling to advance social movements.

Abigail is a movement leader whose film projects include the Emmy Award-winning The Arm of Light, and Pray the Devil Back to Hell. Her most recent film project, The American Dream and Other Fairy Tales, premiered at the 2022 Sundance Film Festival. Looking at America’s dysfunctional and unequal economy, the film asks why the American Dream has worked for the wealthy, yet is a nightmare for people born with less. Women, War & Peace, a documentary series she produced for PBS, looked at the role of women in war in the modern age, not just as victims of conflict, but as active agents for peace in their communities. The series received the Overseas Press Club’s Edward R. Murrow Award.

A visionary philanthropist and progressive social activist, Abigail has worked with organizations supporting peace building, gender justice, and systemic cultural change. Her 2020 TED Talk, “Dignity isn’t a privilege. It’s a worker’s right,” has garnered nearly 2 million views. Abigail created the Daphne Foundation which supports organizations working for a more equitable, fair, and peaceful New York City, and serves on the board of the New York Women’s Foundation.

Her writing has appeared in The New Republic, The Guardian, The Atlantic, CNN Business, and The Washington Post. Abigail is currently working on a book about wealth, power, and privilege.

Alvin Hall is an award-winning broadcaster, writer, and financial educator. His most recent project, The Lorraine, is a feature-length, documentary film about the iconic Lorraine Motel in Memphis, TN. Known widely as the site of Reverend Martin Luther King, Jr.’s assassination on April 4, 1968, the film explores the forgotten story of the Lorraine’s owners, Walter and Loree Bailey and the motel’s role as a safe haven and creative meeting place for African Americans traveling during segregation and Jim Crow. The Lorraine premiered at the 2026 Tribeca Festival and is currently being shown at film festivals across the country.

Alvin created, produced, and hosted the podcast series Driving the Green Book. It received the 2021 inaugural Ambie Award for the Best History Podcast and the 2021 New York Festivals Gold Award for Best Narrative Documentary Podcast. His recent book, also called Driving the Green Book, received a 2024 Honor Award from the Black Caucus of the American Library Association, citing it as a “vital work of national history.” It has been included in a list of the best travel books in The New York Times, The Boston Globe, and USA Today. His short film, Driving the Green Book [on Long Island], was the winner of the 2024 Best Documentary award at The People’s Film Festival in Harlem.

On BBC2 TV from 1997-2002 Alvin hosted the landmark, personal finance series Your Money or Your Life. His many radio documentaries include Daughters of Thunder (BBC World Service 2026), Alvin Hall’s Other America (BBC World Service, winner of the New York Festivals Radio 2025 Gold Award; Signal Awards 2025 Silver Award), Diane Arbus: Intimate Portraits (BBC Radio 4, winner of the New York Festival Radio 2024 Finalist Award) and Jay-Z: From Brooklyn to the Boardroom (winner of a Wincott Award for Financial Journalism and Broadcasting). He has performed on NPR’s The Moth, telling an autobiographical story, “Beyond My Viewmaster Dreams”). Alvin Hall Goes Back to School, winner of a New York Association of Black Journalists Award for Best General Feature, was produce for PRI and WNYC.

Alvin chairs the Advisory Council of the Bowdoin College Museum of Art and is chair emeritus of the Museum of Modern Art’s Black Arts Council. He also serves on the boards of the New York City AIDS Memorial and The Conversation US.
