Kitchen Aide - Educational Support Services

Full-time Position
Location: New York, NY (on-site)

Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and committed Kitchen Aid for our art-based and Reggio-inspired Early Childhood Programs and to join our Educational Support Services team. This is a full day school program, committed to providing nutritious, safe and diverse meals for our students. The Kitchen Aid manages the school kitchen in accordance with the NYC Department of Health laws and regulations and Broadway Housing Procedures and Policies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in preparing ingredients for meals (e.g., washing, peeling, chopping).

  • Help serve food in a timely and hygienic manner.

  • Wash dishes, utensils, and cooking equipment.

  • Clean and sanitize kitchen surfaces, floors, and food storage areas.

  • Stock and organize supplies as needed.

  • Follow food safety and hygiene regulations at all times.

  • Serve meals to students by heating pre-made meals in our warming kitchen.

  • Clean and sanitize common areas during down times.

  • Clean and Sanitize Staff Kitchen.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Education Minimum: High School Diploma or GED.

  • NYC DOH Food Handlers certificate.

  • Previous experience in a kitchen or food service environment is a plus.

  • Basic knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards.

  • Good communication and teamwork skills.

Salary commensurate with experience and the position will pay $38,500-$40,000 per year.
