The Delta, located in Harlem's historic Sugar Hill neighborhood, was purchased by Broadway Housing Communities in 1989. The building had been operated as a transient hotel with rooms rented by the hour. Upon acquisition, Broadway Housing first removed the bulletproof security booth in the Delta's entryway and commenced other needed renovations to the apartments.
