Broadway Housing on Sugar Hill

It is Broadway Housing Communities’ honor to announce the launch of its new affordable housing, educational and cultural arts mixed-use development on the northern boundary of Harlem’s Sugar Hill. Galvanized by generous philanthropic support, Broadway Housing is now poised to create a showcase of innovation in affordable housing and community development.

The Sugar Hill Project will transform an underutilized commercial site into a vibrantly green model of urban community revitalization that integrates affordable housing, education and cultural resources to enrich the neighborhood for generations to come. Grounded by the glorious history of the Harlem Renaissance, Faith Ringgold Children’s Museum of Art & Storytelling will serve as the cultural capstone to inspire children and families from the neighborhood and afar to cherish themselves, their families and communities through art and storytelling. Best practices at the highest standard of affordable housing, museum-based early education, and nonprofit resources for families are envisioned. Overlooking the natural treasures of the adjacent parks and the East River graced by a historic drawbridge, we plan rooftop sculpture gardens and outdoor play space. The Sugar Hill Project will engender a healthy and peaceful community prosperous for its economic and social diversity.
