Susan Delvalle aims to turn Sugar Hill Children’s Museum of Art & Storytelling in Harlem into ‘public living room’ for children

…The skill set she brought to El Museo as top fundraiser and head of government and community affairs is about to be tested as Delvalle tackles her new job as director of the Sugar Hill Children’s Museum of Art & Storytelling in Harlem.

The dynamic new children’s museum now under construction on W. 155th St. is designed to train kids, aged 3 to 8, in the magic of creating art, inspire them with dazzling works by famed artists — and empower them by showcasing the grandeur of Harlem.

“We’re carving out a safe space in which the museum becomes a public living room for children and communities to come together and tell their stories and share their values and nurture their natural creativity,” Delvalle says.
