When it came time to proclaim the name on the building at 583 Riverside Drive, on the upper West Side, the Rev. John Felice asked everyone assembled to yell it out.
And in loud, ragged unison, they did.
“Dorothy Day Apartments!” shouted the pastors, priests, imams, rabbis and others jammed into the building lobby. Cries of “Bravo!” rang out, and a burst of applause.
